The socratic method

From my understanding of the socratic method is a way of communicating without being rude or without lowering someone else.The socratic method is a way to show an argument with a person that thinks otherwise. The utility of the socratic method is to stimulate  critically thinking and to draw out ideas and underlying presumptions.
