LES MIS & THE FRENCH REVOLUTION

M.Myriel could be use as an example because he went into exile after the revolution and in the French revolution  many noble went into exile so they can have a bit of peace for themselves and hide from all the problems. They would lose their fortune and wouldn't know what to do or maybe them would come back from exile and reclaim what is supposed to be theirs

LES MIS PART 1 SUMMARY

In Les Miserables we got to read of what kind of person is Monseigneur Bienvenu. This first part was about him and how he had done a lot of things to help the people of the town. An example of this is he gave his house to the people that ran the hospital so they could have more space for the patients. The author also tell us about his background and how he was a noble with riches and he had a wife that got sick and died. It gives us how he became a bishop, and that he was in exile. He meet the king and the king appointed him as bishop because m.Myriel told him he was "looking at a great man." The first part of the story also tell us of how humble he is and how he is a man of god. He leaves this house doors unlock so anyone can come. But he also said that the house is not his and that it is the house of god and anyone can come in no matter how bad of a person the are. He give them shelter and make them feel welcome.

SUCCESS

"Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming"-John Wooden
An example is this would be Monseigneur Bienvenu because he accomplished success without money, and fame. But in the section of the bishops he doesn't fit in because he is humble.

CAN INTELLECTUAL OPPOSITES ATTRACT?

When Monseigneur Bienvenu was talking to G-- they had very different points of view of how every bishop was. Mr. G thought that and exclaimed that Monseigneur Bienvenu was a bishop with great wealth and didn't actually care of the people and got a this title because of money and didn't earn it.

GET TO KNOW ME

Victor Hugo wanted use to make a relationship with his character, This way we could get to know him as if he were to exist and be our friend or something. We usually get to know people by talking to them, and enjoy our time with them. If you find similarities with them you relate more to them and like them more.

WHAT'S THIS ALL ABOUT

The book so far has been telling us about how M. Myriel spends his days in his house and how he goes to the towns and helps the people in some of their troubles. He has gone and recovered a treasure, going to a person that has killed a lot of people.

LES MIS GETS MY VOTE

What I wrote in my journal topic today was that is the if the king did not have absolute power the government would be a bit more stable. With this there would be different ideas from the people. The economy would be a lot more stable because the king and queen wouldn't have the right to waist a lot of money.

WHAT A CHARACTER

In Les Misérables, Victor Hugo goes to great lengths to describe the character of M. Myriel.  He uses both direct and indirect characterization to help the reader get to know M. Myriel.  Here are some examples, kind, wise, faithful, hopeful, This are direct characterization. The indirect characterization of M. Myriel are how he helps the people from the town, he a person that depends on trust and this is why he leaves this house open to anyone that want to come in.
